S4 STUDIO

Simeon Thaw is a West midlands based national award winning UK photographer and digital artist, his career within the photography industry spans well over 10 year’s. His commercial photography work has been described as edgy and his social documentary photography consists of insightful social messages.

Simeon began showcasing his photography artwork in & around Birmingham City. His work caught the eye of a journalist who worked at the then called Birmingham evening Mail, who offered him a photography job providing images for the nightlife section of the newspaper. His photographs of the locals and of celebrities brought positive attention, and not before long he was shooting for top editorial photography publications, which later lead to a job at a leading international photography company, influencing a culture and creating some of the most memorable images, Simeon went on to win a national photographer of excellence award.

After earning himself a respectable reputation and building a successful photography career, he made the decision to branch

out and was the co founder of TRU lifestyle magazine, during this

time period his work was also exhibited at the world renowned Alexandra Theatre and at the BCU Bourneville School of art.

Over the course of his long and successful career he continues

to draw inspiration from, people, travel, music, art history,

fashion, street culture, social issues and emotion.

Through the lens of his camera Simeon uses photography to create and express himself. His work is both loving and critical. Always aware of larger social implications, he is both storyteller and a photographic artist. Determination, commitment, passion and love for photography is what set’s him apart from conventional photographers.
