ABOUT LOIS!

600_5808I have been photographing weddings for over 8 years and I LOVE my job!

Weddings are great, years and years of preparation and thousands of pounds are spent getting friends and family all together for one special day. Everyone is looking their best, new outfits are bought, hair and makeup is done, even the guys pop on a suit! You get one chance to document the event, hundreds of moments to capture, the hugs, the kisses, the laughs, the tears, everything coming together tells the story of the wedding day.

I love working with people, and especially with children and babies. Getting great images takes a good deal of patience, but the rewards are huge. I like recording memories people can cherish forever and I love being a part of special moments. One of the best parts of my job is meeting new people and visiting new locations. I love photographing people.

When I’m not busy photographing weddings I love lazy days hanging out with my other half – Joe and our gorgeous little boys – Henry and Arthur. Not forgetting Ernie the Border Terrier! You usually find us in front of the fire watching movies, pottering in the garden or cooking up something tasty. When we leave the house…. we love exploring new places, walking and eating good food.

I am blessed with a fantastic bunch of friends and my perfect night out is laughing with the girls over a glass of wine and putting the world to rights!

I love my Mum. Fact. She is my bestest friend.

I’m never far away from my camera, my favourite hobby I am so lucky to be able to call my profession now.

I have a diploma in Photography but my background is in hospitality and I have a degree in Hospitality Management, which comes in handy when meeting new people and getting people together on a wedding day! My photography career began working as a Studio assistant, before becoming the main photographer at Golding Photo Studio in Buxton. Dave and Di Golding started taking me along to weddings as a second shooter, and I have now progressed to shooting weddings on my own.

Working in a busy studio environment made me grow as a photographer. I have learned how to process images to a consistent and very high standard, without resorting to gimmicky Photoshop actions that will look dated in years to come. Now the studio is closed, I am focusing my attention to all my wonderful Brides and Grooms! I still offer Newborn Photography in the home, family photo shoots in the park or at home and commercial jobs for businesses so if you would like any more information just get in touch.
