John Cairns Photography

John Cairns is a professional photographer specialising in portraits, documentary photojournalism, and social justice and humanitarian photography. He lives in Oxford, but frequently works in London and throughout the UK. He is often commissioned to photograph overseas, especially in Africa.

His photos have been used by The Times (UK), CNN, The New York Times, The Observer, The Radio Times, The Telegraph, the Times of India, The Guardian, The Economist, The FT Magazine, The Times of Israel, Le Figaro, The Independent, The Telegraph Weekend Magazine, and El Mercurio in Chile.

Black and white portraits include Zoe Wanamaker, Malala, Stephen Fry, Olympic gold medalist Greg Rutherford, and the late Professor Stephen Hawking.
