4 Tips to Prepare for Your Photoshoot
So now you’ve hired your photographer and are perhaps beginning to feel slightly nervous!
Whether you’re a graduate, a professional getting a new headshot, an aspiring model, a family wanting to get portraits of everyone, or even an influencer, getting your photo’s taken can be slightly daunting!
But don’t worry! If you follow these simple 4 tips, you’ll get through it and hopefully not only have a fantastic time, but have a fantastic selection of photographs to look back on !
STEP 1: DON’T OVERTHINK!
Relax.
You hired a professional photographer for your photo shoot, you researched, and read some killer reviews about them, and most importantly, you loved their photographic work!
So the tough part is over! Try not to overthink it or stress about it, just trust that they have a lot of experience and your best interests at heart! After all, their business is dependent on your happiness!
So, relax and enjoy the whole photoshoot experience!
STEP 2: GET YOUR OUTFITS TOGETHER.
If your outfit makes you feel good, then that’s going to come out in your photo’s! So be prepared!
The more comfortable you are, and the more flattering your outfit, the more confidence you will exude, and the better the end result! No point in wearing ill-fitting, unflattering, uncomfortable clothes, that will simply ruin the whole experience!
On a more practical level, the more your outfits complement the background you’re shooting in, the better. If your photoshoot is being held in a green field, choose an outfit that will stand out against the green, but something that won’t overpower it.
So if you put a little careful thought into your photoshoot outfits, whilst remembering to stay comfortable, this will all ultimately help contribute towards great photographs!
STEP 3: FIND INSTAGRAM OR ONLINE INSPIRATION.
Any photographer worth their salt will welcome your thoughts. And of course, will offer you theirs based on experience!
But have a look online at the types of photos that you’re interested in, and create a mood board with which both you and your photographer can work from.
STEP 4: HAVE FUN.
The point of getting professional portraits done is to capture your special moments, and capture the real you!
So make sure you stay relaxed and most of all have fun!
After all, it’s not every day that the camera is literally on you! Let out your inner diva for an hour or two! Let out that hidden wild side! experiment!
See what makes you feel the most like YOU!
The more fun everyone is having, the better the results will be!
So banish those nervous thoughts, find that perfect outfit, get all the inspiration you can from Instagram or online, listen to your professional photographers’ advice… and remember to have FUN!
Yes, safe travels and lots of fun! L xx
